Kazuhiko Satoh

Kazuhiko Satoh (b. 1947) graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1972, studying under Yoshimichi Fujimoto and Koichi Tamura. He became an established figure in the generation that elevated Japanese ceramics from functional craft to sculptural art during the 1970s and 1980s. His work features in the prestigious Kikuchi Collection and has been exhibited internationally since 1979. Now in his late seventies, Satoh remains remarkably active, known for his masterful technical innovation, structural virtuosity, and generous mentorship of students at all levels.
